Couldn’t agree more. Definitely a PR move. As one of his former constituents (I most definitely did NOT vote for him), this is not news but a realignment to run for office again. We’ve known he was gay since he was in college.

I agree that the system is deeply flawed. What I meant is can you imagine if the French punishment was the mandatory minimum in the US?

While I am by no means saying the system in France is working, the penalty for a “sexual infraction” seems a hell of a lot more punishment than most sexual predators in the United States receive.
