Right now in CT we have one of the highest gas taxes, so you’d think we have great roads, right? Nope. That money gets spent elsewhere. Now they want tolls. Perhaps privatizing the roads so the government can’t get it’s grubby mitts on the toll revenue would be a way to go.

Neutral: This Road Is Not Owned By You™

There isn’t a single named source that supports the claims of the article. They are all mysterious unnamed “white house officials”. Guess what, unnamed white house officials told me this article is agenda-driven.

cross posted to a car forum. Thanks gawker. I get all my news analysis from Gawker media because they are such a proven reputable source of facts.

So, ask a panel of “experts” a serious question about something they’re nominally qualified to answer and you get ONE reasonable answer and the rest pretty much miss the mark, much like our government on just about every issue.

The line from LA to SF? You mean the one that is wildly behind schedule, billions of dollars over budget and was supposed to have the easy central valley line open last year but has yet to lay a mile of track? Goodness, they haven’t even secured the right-of-ways for the first segment yet and at the rate they are

Airlines are heavily regulated. The only thing that deregulation did was uncouple scheduling and pricing from the equation. Get your facts straight.

The interior of the S90 is sublime in its simplicity. The interior of the Regal is lazy.

Honestly, you can’t have it both ways. Cheap/long-range EV/premium interior and styling. Pick 2. And I’m not a GM fanboy, but you can’t seriously be complaining about GM build quality while ignoring the horrendous build quality on the Model S and X, both priced at a premium level.

I wonder how much of this has to to with electric rates in CA. When I lived there 10 years ago, I was paying 22 c / kwh for the first 500kwh, then 33c/kwh after that. The cost of electricity across much of CA is ridiculous.

Do you really want those idiots, who can barely drive a car, jettisoning themselves into the air space above you? No thanks, it’s taken me this long to master looking left, right, fore and aft to avoid these imbeciles! I don’t want to have to look up also.

Do you live in Oregon? Who’s this magic “our”?

Do you really think that we need to pay more, or that we need to streamline the system so that less of our money is wasted and more of it is actually sent to where it can be used effectively?

And don’t come out until I say so.

But cat doesn’t like your things.

In California they raise transportation taxes constantly then steal those funds to pay for other things. Our Department of Transportation is over-staffed yet no one is out fixing anything. Good times!

With all the money in the world, nothing is going to change if the people in charge are going to continue mismanaging the money and take years over schedule to build a section of road.

This is the first news out of this company that I don’t have a problem with.

If you like that, you’ll like the view from my beer goggles even more.

No worries, I’ll sell a ketchup popsicle to a woman in white gloves.
