So, a status symbol for people trying to show off how much they don’t need status symbols.

Dat Probox!

The JR system is a thing of beauty, having been there. Comfortable seats, decent food, easy booking, and you can totally sit and have a beer while watching the countryside fly by.

This is a good take

No, you're just wrong.

First one to do it was the ‘90s Mercedes SL.

I wouldn’t say long stroke engines were a dead end, given their prevalence in marine applications.

Citroën E-Mehari

Given the price the Cactus certainly isn't crappy. It is *very* cheap. A VW of the same price is a lot crappier.

The Chevette begat the Impulse. All is forgiven.

You could attach another Chevette to the air filter, right?

Since it uses 8 mm movie film, it is properly called a home movie camera.

In here (taps chest)

I don’t get this. Porsche “purists,” supposedly up on all the heritage of the brand, made a loud noise about the flat-4 not being “correct,” even though Porsche’s first car was a flat-4. Sure you can argue that it’s a worse engine, but the whole purist angle on this argument doesn’t really work.

Give Porsche credit where due as they have listened to customer (and industry) feedback. We saw this with the 911R / GT3 Touring, return of the manual in GT3 trim and more stripped out driving ethos models.

That’s the first time I’ve ever heard anyone describe it as funky. Insouicance yes, but style? From my experience, you’re definitely in the minority there.

Indeed. Whether that was more or less satisfactory than the Munga is not recorded.
