Interesting. I’ve driven a rental 320d (F30) a couple of times, and I can see why it’s still considered the official enthusiasts’ ‘one car for everything’ here in Yurp.

Oh, my. That was my first rental car too- but that was a good ten years earlier.

Heh. That’s one difference I’ve noticed with friends & colleagues from the US: I’d never even think of driving in a city, least of all a medieval / renaissance tourist spot like Pisa.

For some perspective, the Rapid is in the unusual position of being one of two offerings from Škoda in Europe’s all important C segment, the other being the Octavia.
