Apparently, we all want cars to 'look fast even when standing still', and you do that by adding bloated wheel arches, at least two go faster dents on all the body sides, and headlights smeared into the A pillar.

To me, Saab and Volvo have always been fairly close. Saab may have had a snifter more wack, and Volvo a touch more practicality, but they both made simple, solid and safe designs that relied on character to survive what would be multiple generations at other brands.

Globally. Even '90s 940s seem to be mostly petrol in the UK and Germany, and practically all LPG in the Netherlands.

Yup; try a 1.2 or the diesel if you can- they're great little carts with a bit more oomph. Would have liked a little bit more steering feel to go with the precision, though.

Yes, but not with a live rear axle, cart springs and a bolt-on frame

Thank you!

I have no direct experience of driving police cars, taxis etc. so I'm sure I don't have the full picture, but I wince every time I see vehicles idling away like that. It just seems such a waste.

Hold on just one second- what are those yellow and red cars in Golmaal 3? (no. 5)

Completely forgot about the handcrafted wackness of TVR's dashboards!

Oh, I'm sure it will accommodate number 1s just as well

Indeed they are; the Russian flag started as a navy flag, and was inspired -along with most other naval technology and terminology- by what the Dutch were using at the time.

I wonder if even just the occasional drive through the copious amounts of salt they throw everywhere here isn't far worse for cars than being buried in snow.

It's about prestige- it lets everyone know that the car is imported, and therefore likely to be very expensive.

Deal: you keep the Skylark, I get the Roadmaster.

You know, I'd be perfectly happy to live that way.
