Rice (or even better and more similar to this oatmeal you speak of, rice porridge “khao tom”), a chopped up hotdog with a drizzle of soy/fish sauce was absolutely a staple “ugh just eat something” dish in my Thai household.

This is my first Switch game that I feel that since at least there’s achievementrophies on other platforms (well, other than Smash. every-spirit/every-achievement ed that baby in the first week because it’s Smash). I currently just have the Toad Bell and y’know what it reminded me of?

Thanks for writing this — I love the Mike Schur shows and enjoyed B99 for a while but yeah it’s...ultimately a cop show. “Bad guys” are stretched to be comical so it’s such a “oh silly bad guy! haha off to jail!” vibe but that just doesn’t translate in the real world.

Im about 2ish weeks into FFXIV right now for the same reason of wanting to immerse into an MMO while perpetually indoors, and it’s GREAT. The campaign definitely has its slow moments but there’s enough side content to keep you going (aka queue for a dungeon and teleport around Eorzea cleaning up Main Quest dialogue).

Maybe it’s denial, but I don’t like watching what I’m calling “quarantine content”*. I think it’s too much of a reminder of the current times and...most media I’m consuming is trying to escape that reality?

Love this — with three people to support the youngest they can surely do anything! We’ll see how much carrying I’ll have to do on my own.

I beat the original FF7 for the first time last night after beating Remake a couple weeks ago. It still holds up! I kinda want to play Remake again now that I know context behind some things, but I’m kinda overloading on the FF7 train (watched Advent Children last week too, hoo boy).

Absolutely agree. I’m with my 7-year old sister for the quarantine and we are watching a lot of cartoons when together. Sometimes she’ll catch me watching the aforementioned three by myself and ask to join. I really wonder what it’s like from her perspective, to be told she can’t watch some cartoons.

I beat the game pretty fast (still doing all the side content) because I needed to see the story progress. Usually it’s a wait before I do a New Game+ (in this case, hard mode) but because of the world rn I immediately went into it. Platinum’d in a week and went “there’s...no more to do huh”

This movie really surprised me — it’s not a premise I’d ever be excited for (pretty sure I asked my roommate “wanna watch a movie where Scarlet Johansson goes through a divorce?”).

Leviathan & Bahamut are both relatively hard fights, and Ifrit/Shiva can get you through the whole game even on Hard (honestly since summons aren’t gamechangers anyway) so don’t worry much about it.

The fact that you don’t know which pair of quests you get until AFTER you beat Hell House is ROUGH, seeing as Hell House is one of the hardest Hard Mode fights in the game. For all the manuscripts/trophies (dresses included), I had to do this fight...what 4 times? Never got easier
