I rather think I have grown up, in that the last time I was impressed with (or gave a shit about) breasts being shoved in my face solely for fanservice purposes, I was a sixteen year old kid making his first visit to Hooters.

...in the intervening twenty years, I’ve gotten married, gotten on with life, and am no longer

The difference in your example is all of those players, win or lose, got PAID. Him losing costed him potentially a bunch of money.

“Where are they? Oh, game heaven, carry on.”

I don’t buy this, since no reference to any kind of afterlife was ever made anywhere in the game outside of the spirits that persist in the real world.

You have to buy it because the game was shipped unfinished and without this explanation, it’s gutter trash (as is, the game is simply trash). It has so much promise which is the most upsetting part.

The afterlife Regis was in, and the afterlife Noctics winds up in seem like very different afterlives, though.

Apples and oranges.

I’m not being “too dense to understand it.” There’s nothing there to understand. They shoehorned a “happy ending” into the end of the game without earning it.

No. I’m saying it’s an incredibly stupid ending that makes no sense in the context of the story that had been told up to that point.

This. So much this. People complain about things there’s nothing wrong with, but Ardyn not taking on some sort of Safer Sephiroth form was my biggest complaint. I’m cool with the one on one battle, but afterwards, he should have taken on another form and your party should have rejoined you.

That’s a pretty big difference from the heaven-like afterlife Noctis ends up in. His father certainly didn’t appear to be enjoying the afterlife in the scene where he finally gets the strength of the Kings of Lucis.

Also, why was this like the first FF game where the final boss doesn’t have a monstrous final form? His body was filled with demons!

i wouldn’t be so quick to judge someone’s reactions immediately after such an emotional moment where you feel like you were robbed, wrong or right you can’t expect someone in that situation to react the the extreme posture that you expect of them.

might not have seen the hand up as he walked away. Rage can give you tunnel vision.

If you think about t, the reason why this game is such a patchwork job is because it was original finally going to be a multi-part series (likely a trilogy and I would have rather had that than FFXIII any day). The first game is the open world buddy road trip, second game is chapter 8 probably up to chapter 13, with

E-sports be pretty cool, but the more sports like they get the most more I remember why I don’t like regular sports.

Except he won because of it. He should have shaken his hand but I have no disrespect for him for not doing so. Shaking his hand would be acceptance that a fair match was played, but thats simply not what happened.

”What are your thoughts on the inauguration, Squall?”

IDK. I’m happy with FFXV as it is and I think it’s well past time for them to move on. I’m sure they’ll spend this year doing DLCs and then a Definitive Edition that includes them all (and comes to PC), but after that, they should say bye to Noctis and crew for good. It’s been long enough.
