Average lifespan, infant mortality, literacy rates...there are plenty of statistics that are more fundamental to human development that have directly benefited from the spread of capitalism. Not to trivialize anything you mentioned, but I do think you’re not showing the whole story.

You’re basically upending personal property ownership, which doesn’t strike me as too far removed from anarchy.

World War II was just as responsible for getting the US out of the depression as The New Deal, if not more so.

I think your error is that you presume these losers (for lack of a better term) remain losers forever. That’s not really true. People who are displaced find other means of work, and if they can’t enjoy massive wealth, they can work so that their children can live better than they did.

A chart you’ll never see here on Splinter -

To be fair, the cycle of winners and losers in capitalism has also resulted in the net positive growth of per capita human wealth and the movement of hundreds of millions out of poverty.

You need a lesson in behavioral psychology. People need INCENTIVES to work. If you’re simply paying people to sit around and do nothing and not impose work requirements, guess what? A lot of people will be content to continue to sit around and do nothing and get paid for it.

I do not enjoy the suffering of others. It is in fact proponents of unions who make them seem like a good idea who end up causing the most suffering in the form of layoffs and restructuring due to the havoc unionizing wreaks. I’m the one looking out for the guy who’s gonna get suckered into this bullshit and be worse

That was all well and good up until the point you said the tribune will have “no choice” but to recognize the union. Whether people lose their jobs right off the bat or down the line when the paper can no longer afford them due to terms they bargained upon, it will end badly. Unionizing almost always does.

And if they offer crap terms to the union and refuse to budge?

Or else what? They’ll refuse to work and be replaced by people who are actually willing and able to do those jobs just as well?

No...what? Splinter trying to twist something into being about race when there are clearly laid out facts that indicate the contrary? That’s not the blog I know...

Terrorism (noun) - the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims

Jesus, we do this every time...

Hey, fucking surprise, butcherbakertoiletrymaker is in here continuing his creepy, stalkery obsession with Hillary Clinton that is excessive even by Splinter standards, and of course dismissing replies calling him out for his obsession.

Good lord man, let it go. Mark David Chapman has shown less obsessive behavior than you do.

If Bernie loses the nomination to a more mainstream candidate, I’m going to stay home to show my displeasure and really stick it to the establishment!

Because without an actual PLAN or at least the beginning of one, what do you have? Nothing.
