I agree. Get a Taco and sleep easy for the next 15 years. They can’t hold that high of a premium for high mileage can they?

I was going to ask you whether you’re from San Marcos CA, or San Marcos Tx? Seeing your plates can confirm you’re from San Marcos Texas. Representing!

I think it was on purpose so that they fit it for the RHD market as well.

Wipers are indeed interesting. One thing that ticks my OCD is how BMW E38,E39,E66,E65,and E60 variants used LHD windscreen wipers for their RHD cars. Drove me NUTS for the past 2 decades. Actually it’s still driving me nuts since I have an E66. The MB w140 S Class also used the same windshield wipers for both LHD

I think Inside Tech or some site did a comparison in driving tests between Germany vs. the USA and Sweden vs. USA. It’s quite a surprise to see how stringent (or tough for a lack of better word) the tests are on these new drivers in Europe.

More like that nerdy girl who would be all flirty in class, but wouldn’t put out at the prom.

No kidding. How much DID they spend at Super Bowl half time?

The part about it becoming an I Beam saddens me, but otherwise there is so much truth in what you wrote.

I’ll give it a NP. Wait hang on a second....

Nice score!

Had a 1999 523i as well. Just keep an eye on the transmission fluid, keep the cooling system in check, change the oil every 3-5k miles and the car will run forever!

My #1 rule is: if I love it enough, no one can borrow it.

Water pumps are what I worried about most with the E36? Didn’t the plastic impeller ones implode after 30K miles?

I like your assessment. So this applies to 2.5 Cosworth MB190E, the E30 M3 Evo, and maybe the Mercedes w124 E500?

Beautiful.

Wow! What a find!

I keep reading about the auto transmissions going out at 100K miles. I understand that these are serviceable. I guess people don’t want to put money into them? This applies to E39 and E38 transmissions as well.

Sorry took so long to reply. We are a wireless solutions provider/design house. First implemented bluetooth technology into mobile phones and we integrated BT technology into cars as well. Most notably in the early naughties into Bugatti which lead to more work for VW, GM, and FCA.

Not one but three of my first cars. I learned a great deal about motoring from them though.
