I think he’s featured more heavily because he’s a secondary lead character, not a mere love interest, though he is also her love interest. Steve probably has a large role to play in the film like he did in the last one.

Gamora is technically a love interest of StarLord’s and she’s heavily featured in the trailers for Guardians of the Galaxy. Nakia is featured in the Black Panther ones. Peggy was in the original Captain America trailers.
