I honestly really liked it too. The whole relationship between the father and daughter was especially well done, in my opinion. Like, there are things that aren’t ideal in that movie but overall I think the women’s thoughts especially showed a lot of nuance and truth. 

That tardy slip bit sounded childish and petty to me. Also the emails saying things were “the worst ever in her career” sent to everyone in the office? That’s some bullshit.

You’re being obtuse. To Black Americans, blackface has always been offensive. Literally always. There has never been a time when black people didn’t see black face for what it was: a way to degrade and humiliate us. 

It was always culturally offensive. Even when it was an extremely popular form of entertainment, people knew that shit was offensive but they did it anyway because black people were considered subhuman.
