That's blatantly not true. Do the Eris Bounties. Then when doing Crota's End, it doesn't matter if you get radiant energy because you can swap it for shards via Eris Morn. 31 to 32 was nowhere near as bad as 29 to 30. You just weren't doing the necessary things to make it less of a grind.

I would seriously not use primaries when taking down Crota's shield. Heavy and Special weapons are the go-tos.
