They Came Together is a full-on satire of romantic comedies, rather than a romantic comedy that pokes fun at itself. It’s what Burning Love is to The Bachelor. It’s confusing that it is being used here as an example of standard, sub-par rom-coms, as it’s a pretty scathing send-up.

Sad face. :( Would friends/family notice it’s missing and take offense? If not, don’t worry about it. It makes more room in your life and space for things that do bring you joy. It gets easier with practice (I still get guilty if something goes to ebay, though...).

I feel you on that book. I can’t decide if she’s full-on bonkers or not, but I’m trying to select the pieces that seem like reasonable advice.
