We have that too, kind of. I learned it the hard way. We have a county recycling/disposal place open year round, but it is a good 20 minute drive away. Not a hardship, but still not someplace I want to spend part of a Saturday driving to just to dump some old oil, CFLs and paint cans off at.

I don’t remember seeing anyone act like that. I was across the country on a business trip when it happened. Ended up road-tripping a small rental car back home with a couple of colleagues. Through multiple states everything was orderly, gas station stops were all business as usual.

There is no reason for someone living in Buttfuck Indiana, or anywhere else not New York, to have gotten so terrified...

I’ve never used an Uber or a Lyft, I have used enough taxis to know that they suck massively and I remember back to when everyone was ecstatic at the idea of getting a ride without having to resort to taxis. Now a bunch of busybodies want to jump in and kill it for “perceived unfairness.”
