Tecnologically, yes, they’ve come VERY far, but it seems that all of those technological advances have come at the price of aesthetics. Seriously, just LOOK at that damned thing from the perspective of industrial art. It’s magnificent! It encapsulates better the sheer insanity of riding a motorcycle in the first place

So, what are the odds that their car insurance will cover the cost of the damage to the $65,300,000.00 fighter jet?

This, a million billion fucking times this.

I’m all for that, so long as the co-legislation says that they also have to be aimed correctly from the factory and all 50 states levy major fines for improperly aimed headlights. Brighter is great, so long as they’re pointed in the right direction and not blinding oncoming traffic like so many currently do.

This is what comes of all those graphs you see every election year about how the US outspends the next 5 or 10 western nations in defense spending alone. It’s not that we’re necessarily spending too much, but that those other nations, our allies in NATO, they’re not spending enough. I’d love to see the metrics

They’ve been decent for me where engine breaking on a downhill in inclimate weather has been necessary. Not that I couldn’t do that with the old style automatic trans on the stick mind you.

Mea Culpa on the 6-speed manual. I’ve test driven the new XT with X Mode and DSC in the CVT w/ 6-speed paddle shifter and misread that they were now offering a 6-speed manual.

You need to drive one of the new XT Foresters with the 6-speed manual. The new dynamic stability control they have is A-MAZING. Pin the throttle to the floor in a hairpin and not even a hint of body roll. You’d better believe I’ll be pushing for the wife to get that next year when it’s time to buy her a new car.

Do you actually have any clue what Subaru has produced for the vast majority of its time as an automotive company? I mean, the 360 was basically a JDM Beetle clone and everything up to 2002/2003 was every bit as mundane design-wise as every other Japanese automaker out there. Everyone LOVES the 1st-gen Impreza in

Damned shame really. That’s the way it goes though when they’re steadily climbing the ranks in both sales and Consumer Reports. I’m glad Subaru is doing so well sales wise now. There’s little danger that they’ll die off (something that seems to have almost happened to Mitsubishi for example) but they’re quickly going

So, aside from all the bashing on the looks of it (people always say Subies are ugly no matter what they do) the real question is going to be what makes it a “sport” trim? I don’t have high hopes that it’s got a better engine, beefier transmission, or sportier suspension, but it’d be nice if it did. I still think the

Don’t even get me started on (my favorite) of their oddball names. The Outback Sedan. Is it a Legacy sedan with Outback features? Or an Outback cut down to sedan size? That and the 2.5RS are the two cars I wish they still made today.

At least the majority of those are nimble, light weight, 2-door vehicles. Not exactly the family hauler that the Legacy has been for the past two iterations.

Yes, back when Legacies had less legroom than a Toyota Corolla. Anything in the past two generations though is a big mama to try and throw around a rally course. Not saying it can’t be done, because it obviously has, and is done even today, but not the car I’d go for by any stretch of the imagination.

Team Conte is a husband/wife duo who campaigns a Subaru Legacy in Rally America.

I was actually prevented from sustaining serious injuries in a head-on collision with a stone wall thanks to those. We had an mid 90's Subaru Legacy wagon that had the automatic shoulder belts and airbags, and it was the only car that I couldn’t comfortably put the shoulder-belt behind my back, so I left it be. I

You can’t be the real Tina Belcher.... You didn’t reference butts one single time in your post.

Neutral: Ugh Dieselgate

My first new, off the lot car was a ‘03 2.5RS “bugeye” I should have never, ever, ever sold that thing. I miss it so much. Sure, the new base-line Imprezas use the 2.5 engine standard, but there’s definitely something missing in them that the 2.5RS had. My girlfriend of the time had a WRX of the same year. Even that

So, this is pretty close, but not quite there. All the people saying “GTI” are pots calling kettles black. There’s simply not that much more room in the hatch in a GTI to qualify it as a “better” choice in the practicality ring.
