We do make some good food. My mom's side of the family was lucky, because when they immigrated to the US in the early 1900s, they moved to a part of a city that was full of nothing but other Polish immigrants and Lebanese immigrants. And the two ethnic groups got along swimmingly. My great grandmother and her sister

Interesting, I will have to check that out now! Poles and Russians both make good vodka. Sure, we may have made it first, but we also have pierogi, while all they have is piroszki. Now that's an abomination right there. And "potato wine" is rich. Poles hold grudges better than any Sicilian.

There's a Vice episode about it? It's just something my Polack family gets touchy about when it's attributed to the Russkies. The fact that I refer to myself as a Polack at all pisses them off, since it's a slur and all. I didn't know it was wodka, but it makes sense since that's the "v" sound in Polish.

It's not for everyone. I can't do gin at all. However, since you're 1/4 Pole, you may want to try Żubrówka some time. It's a bison-grass Polish vodka that is unlike any vodka out there. I didn't even know it existed until last weekend, and now I can do nothing but sing its praises.

As a Pole, I must say that the Poles invented vodka, so it's Polack potato juice. The Russkis just bogarted it as their own.

Upvoted for ELO. On the Third Day ties with El Dorado as my favorite album of theirs, and that's such an incredible song.

It's my favorite porter when I can't find Flying Dog's Gonzo porter. And since they moved out all of the summer beer, which Gonzo is one of, EF it is until next year.

Their Edmund Fitzgerald porter is really, really good. So is the Eliot Ness lager, and I'm not that big of a lager person.

I haven't made either of these yet, but I was thinking of new recipes for my huge pierogi-making endeavor that takes place during the holidays. My two favorites: spanakopierogi, which has spinach and feta as the filling, and pourogi, which has cheese curds and potatoes and will be covered in brown gravy, to be eaten

I have the soundtrack on vinyl and CD and it is so good and hilarious. "Cheese and Onions" is one of my favorites, though. I also love "Ouch", the "Help" parody, with the large Polynesian woman chasing them around amidst the fake palm trees and the apples falling on their heads. Eric Idle and Neil Innes really got

Exactly! I loved the George-Harrison-as-a-reporter cameo. Since he was such good buddies with the Pythons and helped finance Life of Brian, it was great. I've shown that movie to people who aren't even big Beatles fans and who don't get all of Beatles jokes in it, (the movie stuff, the John and Yoko love-in stuff) and

My favorite mockumentary will always be The Rutles: All You Need Is Cash. Everything about that is just so perfect. Yes, it is a parody of The Beatles, but it was on point. Eric Idle's resemblance to a young Paul McCartney and George Harrison's analog Stig being turned into an Indian guy pushes it over the edge for

They did acknowledge their new deal with Swearnet at the beginning of the eighth season, with Ricky getting pissed and yelling at the crew because he wasn't getting paid all of the money he thought he would be getting paid for being followed around. So they still occasionally throw that in, even in the Netflix

That's exactly my issue with it. The score is gorgeous, there is no denying that. But that storyline is just awful. And you can't tell me that it's just the time period either, when there were other playwrights that could write strong female characters from the same period, and even earlier. I mean, Noel Coward?

Ingrid Bergman and Burgess Meredith. I would have loved to have seen that.

Thank you! It was campy, though Liberace on a carousel horse was pretty amusing. Are you familiar with Lilliom, the play it is based on? It sounds so much better than Carousel. Nothing will ever piss me off as much as the Broadway version of Tommy, though. They destroyed that story completely. First time I have ever

Done! And thanks.

I am going to be hearing that all day long. Thank you.

They are, aren't they? Especially geese. I hate geese with every fiber of my being. But these swans are so chill. They also have a Chinese goose, which looks like a cross between a swan and a chicken, which I have dubbed the "swicken". She's awesome too. they have videos of the swan parade on YouTube, and it is the
