I picked up Continuum Extend (think that was the title) for £18 and enjoyed playing online for a few hours, I never have the patience to do training mode in fighting games though so I got my butt thoroughly kicked which was surprisingly enjoyable.

I've never actually watched Star Trek (barring the two JJ movies), this holo-deck does sound a might bit preposterous.

I'm pretty sure the human race will just turn into the Visas people from Star Wars (r race of blind people who sense things around them through the force), only instead of sensing everything through the force, we'll all have digital eyes or sensors that we use to be aware of the worlds around us.

If the deck had a moving floor, then it could create entire worlds that only physically inhabited the room when you got close to them, while only presenting the image when those parts of the worlds are out of reach.
