Safe money is that the security guard’s discourse was less than civil. And he's at work. But I guess the burden of discourse falls onto sick people. Makes sense.

A USED stand is $7. And the tubing and bag are no longer sterile once opened obviously— You can’t sell stuff like that! EBay doesn’t even let you sell opened perfume ffs!
An IV stand is about 30 bucks on ebay. An empty IV bag and tubing is a little less than $10. In order to make less than $40 (maybe, assuming he found someone on ebay in search of an IV kit), the security guard thought this guy either:
The security guard doesn’t seem to realise “Are you stealing that and selling it on eBay?” isn’t civilised discourse, either, just because he managed to leave out the part where he thought “because why would you be able to afford a hospital stay?”
I had to go to the ER last week. I was dizzy and sat down in the lobby. Had a security guard hovering outside my room while I was dropping giant clots from a cervical procedure. I fucking hate hospitals. I wasn’t in pain I was just pouring blood and scared and dizzy so I guess asking for help is a danger.
You know they couldn’t just let him go. They had to make sure they arrested him just to show their power over nigg*rs.
So lets see, that makes it:
Seriously. It’s understandable not to be talking in your calmest voice when you’re sick enough to have been in the hospital and then some rent-a-cop accosts you, making ridiculous allegations about stealing an IV.
Is there a rash of people getting themselves admitted into hospital, forcing doctors to give them IV’s just to walk off with the IV still attached to their arm so they can sell it on Ebay?
A couple of minutes to check.
“You are a security guard at a hospital. You encounter someone in hospital wear who says he’s a patient.”
Pssshh...don’t let no facts or truths get in the way of their god-given right to be racist crapsacks.
A radio call or phone call to the info desk or the nursing station where this man is a patient at, matching the information on his patient ID bracelet, will be all the confirmation we need at our hospital. A couple of minutes to check. There are a lot of lawyers that can’t wait to sink their teeth into this slam dunk…
When I first read the headline, I had this fleeting image of someone being arrested *after listing the IV bottle on eBay*.
You are a security guard at a hospital. You encounter someone in hospital wear who says he’s a patient. How hard is it to verify that?
I’d be suing everybody and thanking God every day that I didn’t die because of this bullshit.
Ughhhh. Since when did becoming irritated at uniformed security(not even police) become a cause for a crime. This kind of stuff bugs the crap out of me Anne.
Right? If she would have been shot by the baby’s father, would they have charged her “because she antagonized him into abusing her?” And whose word is it being determined by that she started it anyway?
I can’t read news coming out of the US anymore. No amount of alcohol, or life experience, or even cynicism is going to help me cope with this shit.
This is the craziest most ridiculous screwed up crap that I’ve ever heard of Alabama..starting a fight that led to the death of her unborn child by unnecessary force of another who used a gun that killed her unborn child yet she’s being charged is pure stupidity. As if you’re not already too involved in women’s rights…
