I play SR for the same reason I watch The Three Stooges.
It's good wholesale irreverent fun with an eye for the absolutely insane.
On top of that they've always had fun(if simple) stories, excellent gameplay, and surprisingly good voice acting(I dunno why I always expect the voice acting to be terrible in SR…

I loved SR The 3rd.
My gf and I made characters of each other and would run around for hrs just tearing up the town, and dressing the other in the worst clothing choices possible.
It was a blast!

Total underappreciated flick! Fantastic cast, great script, fun premise, and some hilariously loving nods to the inconsistencies of Star Trek.
