We trans people live rent-free in you idiots’ heads
I get that this point is purely about sticking it to trans people, but even if she wasn’t a shitheel this comment would be such peak millenial brainrot. Yes, the baby wizard books lady is the greatest author of our generation because it was the only long book you, personally, have ever bothered to finish.
fucking internet is garbage now.
If it was 88 minutes long, you would be correct. The problem is when a film extends that by 40 minutes and then grinds to a halt in the third act and tries to make the audience care, instead of just sticking to a wall-to-wall action fest. That’s where this earns the “C” grade, as I understand it.
Honestly, I don’t understand the value in the IP here. I love the classic movie and it still holds up really well. But that’s because it’s a really well crafted movie with great characters, good humor, and a solid mystery. You don’t need the Clue characters to do that. The Knives Out movies and The Afterparty prove…
I went ahead and ctrl+F’ed this article looking for “Israel,” “Hamas,” or “Bari Weiss”, but the only person bringing them up was you. Sort of strange from the person who posted this when I accused you of just trying to rile people up:
Second shift at the SV Club has been like this for years. Even when they bring on new people to write in the evening, it’s all snark, all the time, no matter the topic or how deserved it is.
I feel like the things Seinfeld is saying in the interview are pretty perceptive. Schimkowitz even seems to largely agree with much of it. So why be so pissy about it all?
This is what culture is now: a bunch of shit you’ve already seen before, endlessly spinning off into the void.
No, no, no. Bert is boring but he’s no scab.
I’m with you on this: it’s one thing to find something unacceptably offensive in any context and another thing to think that you’re rushing to the defense of a group that you don’t think can articulate their own thoughts. But after a couple of decades of what sounds like pretty standard right-wing jackassery, I’ve…
I’ve hated movies and come to like them later. A recording, be it audio or video, literally doesn’t change over time. People’s tastes do.
Do you really think the goal of this, or nearly any, reviewer is to ensure that the thing they are criticizing sells less..?
Hi! I’m a casual Taylor Swift fan. Nice to meet you!
But was it called "Lords of the Rings"?
Whatever you opinion on the quality of Rings, it got a lot of eyeballs on it. So yeah, it was big.
My favorite genre is ‘article drumming up controversy from comments that are not all that controversial punctuated by snarky internet commentary’
Oh, so you’re stupid, and can’t read a totally different situation that you just googled. But good on you for a strawman.
You have obviously never been on a set and clearly have no idea what a director does. Since you clearly don’t know, they give full control of any prop, from guns to whatever, to the crews that should know what they’re doing, and mostly sit down and watch their work and maybe give tips to the cinematographer on angles…
