Are they really banking on this being a successful movie? It can’t possibly be good. I don’t know....I’ve stopped going to a lot of these recent comic book films. Not because they’re woke. It’s because they are dumb. There....I said it.

And he ditched the shows as soon as he could ...
I think the copy editor was also kept “away at night.”
I grew up with Simmons rocking to the oldies around my house on video tapes. Definitely a unique personality be he always seemed like a warm, kind man. He doesn’t deserve any of this.
Honestly, the confusing part is Alec denying that he pulled the trigger. He was playing a character that was shooting a gun. Acting required him to pull the trigger and common sense dictates that it was 100% the prop master’s fault for putting a live bullet in a prop gun.
Why would Alec even need to deny pulling the…
Dammit, and I just asked her to bring me a blanket.
“He is welcome to play my asshole, brother.”
I want high concept romcoms.
I was talking with my wife about this and why I don’t like Romcoms. It’s not because I don’t like romance, it’s being Romcom setting are beyond cliche and boring. Sleepy towns and the big city.
I took facial math in college. It was an enormous load but it came to me easily.
As a black man, sure, I’m happy to see black artists win awards but the fact you have to point it out is cringy as fuck. Especially when Trevor Noah, who basically killed the Daily Show as a vital show and has no business winning anything, is included there.
“Ellen DeGeneres coming out of the closet on her show, Neil Armstrong landing on the moon, scenes from The Simpsons and Breaking Bad, Martin Luther King’s “I Have A Dream” speech, the closing moments of The Sopranos series finale, and, even 9/11"
I cannot tell you how tired I am of the false “attention spans are shorter” nonsense. Whenever I hear it, I do the Liz Lemon eyeroll.
That whole take about attention spans is so tired, and also straight up incorrect. For all the freedom to mess with runtimes that streaming supposedly offers, TV runtimes haven’t really changed much; we’re still using the half hour comedy/one hour drama model for the most part. In fact, the whole concept of…
The Golden Age of Television began with that episode of Frasier where Niles makes the half-court shot, and ended right afterwards.
That pumpkin’s gone all moldy and started to collapse, you can’t leave those things out til mid January.
Clearly he missed the news about the upcoming Young Sheldon spinoff.
Yep. I would have defended Koy, in general, and said, “Hey, I get it, it’s a hard gig and if the timeline is accurate, that’s brutal” but then he threw his writers under the bus and that’s just fucked. And then he doubled down and blamed the audience, on top of that. Self deprecation has always been a big part of…
Why are people so terrified to admit they like action movies these days? Even articles like this which acknowledge there’s a lot of fun to be had feel the need to add a disclaimer of “Don’t worry, we know the movie sucks and anyone who actually likes it is an idiot.”
AV Club responds: “Nope, sorry, we got to drag this story out a little longer. You remember how many articles we got of The Slap. Let’s see if we can beat that!”
