And the Fusion is significantly larger than the Audi and BMW.

It does. Ford makes more money per car than GM and FCA.
I have a 2017 Fusion Energi on order, to replace a 2015 C-Max lease. If gas wasn’t as expensive up here, I’d have the Sport for sure, but with the government EV incentives, as well as my short commute, I end up driving a 102MPG lifetime average car for less money than my 2012 Focus was costing me. And HOV lanes.
How old was the driver?
I walked into my Ford dealer, asked for a 2017 Fusion at $100 over invoice, and they didn’t even try to haggle me.
A memorable ambulance call I was dispatched to is when someone threw a live chicken into a McDonald’s drive-thru window.
I have to say, I never fully got the car requirement at the night drive-thru, ever since as teenagers we walked to one and got sent back.
That’s a great question I’ve been asking myself for a while!
And see, to me Ford was utter crap until they got their shit together around 2012 and started offering us the good cars they were selling in Europe, and being on my second Ford since then, I don’t have much negative to say about them. Both times, I test drove GM products and came back unimpressed to say the least.
I thought I could counter every point you’d make - but yeah, you just got me there. Tesla’s network is nowhere near as extensive. On the other hand, you can buy a Tesla as easily as a USB cable you’d get on Amazon, and it’ll get delivered to your door (almost) the same way.
But Saturn isn’t a good example, they were just a subsidiary of a much larger animal, that at some point decided to pull the plug.
They obviously know how to make cars, given all the - justified - praise the Model S is getting. Plus, if they were shit, it wouldn’t be the safest car ever tested, nor would it have broken the NHTSA’s testing rig.
The blog itself has been, the commenters? It’s a whole other story. I think the Model S is excellent, the model X has a lot of potential. As to whether it is sustainable, I sure hope so, because the traditional business model of car sales (of which GM is such a vocal proponent) needs to change drastically.
I don’t get all the Tesla-bashing I read on this blog, especially from Americans. I mean, an American company making its cars in the USA has made what can arguably be called the best car in the world, at least from many auto professionals’ point of view - which is refreshing considering the fucktons of shit the Big…
Ridiculous. Tesla is obviously worried about delays, and is pumping a shitload of money into it, but even with a 2-year extra delay, your “third generation” claim, and the $15k one, are absolutely ridiculous.
Indeed! I went honest, thinking that the AWD, Autopilot model will probably be around $40-42k, but the entry model is still going to be better for $2500 less.
Sure, a Chevy plasticky cheapo product (just sit in a Volt) for $37,500 will destroy a Model 3 which will, for not much more money, have Autopilot, supercharging, the very latest tech, and all the gimmicks you want. I mean, the Bolt doesn’t even have adaptive cruise.
That’s weird. My mom just got rid of her old 2001 Echo that was so rusted that it looked like swiss cheese, had basically no muffler, and was in the most awful state I’ve seen a car be, and not only did the recycling place come and pick it up for free, they gave her $150 cash.
I do get why the US is the first to get these things (Prime Video, Pantry, Fresh...) - Amazon is an American company, it makes sense. What I don’t get, however, is why the UK is getting all of it too, while Canada has none of it. WE’RE YOUR NEIGHBOURS, FOLKS. I mean, don’t tell me it’s a supply chain thing (land…
