The base vette probably won’t be faster than the Ford GT, but the eventual Z06 and ZR1 variants? They’re going to shit all over it. The current ZR1 was faster than the GT at VIR.

The C7 ZR-1 is already as quick or quicker around most tracks than the GT.  I expect the higher-performance versions of the C8 will be even quicker.

It wouldn’t be the first time the Corvette shit in the Ford GT’s cereal. The C6 Z06 was every bit as fast (faster by some metrics) as the same-year GT but cost half as much.
