I Made the WEC at COTA every year so far... I am sad to see it turned into an afternoon show. The glowing brakes and exhaust flames are something to see!

The COTA crowd was always a mixture of pure racefans and the Austin “Bro” crowd that came out for the start, played with their phones for the next two hours and then headed back to get to 6th Street by 9 pm.

Looks like we get the last 2 hours on FS2 at 4:00cdt

I went the last 3 years, but cannot make it this year. I loved the 6 hour races and seeing those amazing hybrid LMP1s race into the dark.

The ones on the hood cover open holes that release air pressure in the engine compartment. The roof flaps are just like vertical spoilers meant to stop the airflow.

I do not think he meant as measured accomplishments. Rather that he is not a one horse rider like most in Cup are.

Possibly this was COTA stirring the media pot. Nothing like publicity.

Eddie Gossage will pull alot of strings to keep NASCAR only at Texas Motor Speedway. Same thing happened when rumors of Indy Car going to COTA started a few years back.

3 injured Sunday night, same area same type of accident

Green Valley Raceway, a drag strip in far north North Richland Hills , Texas. When we moved here in 1991 they were still racing, but were closed soon after.

I did hate the coasting until the last 50 laps... Always thought they should pay 3-2-1 points at each quarter of the race to make the guys run at bit harder.
