I just hooked this up and gave it a shot. It works...sort of. The velocity sensitivity needs some work, especially with the snare. The red pad is the quietest on the whole kid, and I'm not sure if it's just my setup (I've tinkered with it before) or OSCulator's fault.

Though somewhat unrelated, I appreciate Lifehacker's showcasing of various Instructables highlights. Saves me having to check one more website, since generally LH picks good ones.

The key to maintaining this thing is the zamboni contraptions, imho. A scraper won't do much but knock off layers; the zamboni will actually make the surface relatively smooth.

It's definitely easier to get approved here or on Giz than Deadspin...there's some sort of sports milieu I just don't fit into it seems.
