Have you seen the wire?
Have you seen the wire?
Negro hipster (Neg..., naw that don’t work right).
Sorry, didn’t clarify. Meant the idea of being stoosh is common to all the groups. “Stoosh” itself is most definitely a 100% West Indian word.
I once had a white girl ask me how it was possible that my friend and I didn’t smoke weed. “But, you guys are black.” If you don’t shutchoe old...
I was told TODAY during an interview, “You’re clearly very articulate.” Uh, I have an advanced degree in this very field. Why wouldn’t I be articulate?
“You haven’t tried anal?”
Wait until the next time I’m leaving CVS. I’ll show you!
let the church say amen .. i was all good then back to gray smh
So true. I’ve heard 18 out of the 20. Sigh. K, I have to go woo-sah now.
Everybody wants to denigrate Black Americans when it’s easy and convenient to follow that narrative that a large part of the world believes, but then at the same time, want to emulate and BE like us. There are no people (especially people of color) on this planet who don’t take a lot of their cues from Black…
I LOVE that you mentioned “stoosh” because, ah, YES!, this is a thing with Black folks regardless of where you’re from. And though it’s decidedly not so, some of us are viewed as such because simply cos we’ve traveled abroad/ been “to foreign”, etc. Others because they think they’re superior to others.
That’s MY Wild Cougar! Lol
LMAO I was JUST abt to add this iconic phrase.
I agree 100000% as I have a patois version of EACH of these lines—-from both my “stoosh” (bougie) and “hood” family members!
OnyxWhite, I think it’s a troll trying to get attention. It makes me wonder if it’s actually one of the White folks who set up a fake “Black” profile and say dumb stuff. Nigerians serve as a good example of the spectrum. This creature, if African, is one of those no one involves in serious talk. It’s what is known as…
Yeah, I’m obviously not since you say I’m not. LOL. You contradicted yourself telling NegraWithTumbao you didn’t mean “ghetto” as pejorative. You’re either a liar or stupid (perhaps both). Anyone who knows the denotation (& etymology) of the word knows it wasn’t/isn’t created as a positive thing. I’d ask what country…
Unc, can you ask VSB to give me free too?
Ugh, why do folks think that black is synonymous with ghetto??? I am about as far to the end of the spectrum to still be considered black (by some at least), but I’ve heard every one of these phrases and had them said to me at least 10x during my lifetime.
that “bes not” tickled me too. i was like wait! what? LOL
Yes!!!!! This fool is the same type to be divisive about ethnicity, race, class, gender, etc. in Africa. As an African with friends and family from various socio-economic, religious, ethnic groups, I can say coons like are generally considered an embarrassment because they rarely have anything intelligent to add yet…
