That too. B613 may have been destroyed in-universe, but story wise, it never did. At best, the plotline went on hiatus, but now it has gone full retard. Shonda failed to understand that part, to the dismay of Scandal fans who got sick of Eli Pope and Jake. Even more annoying, early season five proved the show works SO

My 2nd shift job prevents me from watching Scandal live, so I tune in during the weekend. But seeing the F grade…now I REALLY want to watch this episode.

Be nice, Cheyenne. The season four finale was awful for MANY other reasons separated from Olivia and Fitz coming together. The amount of character assassination in that episode, whether figurative or literal, was astounding. By the end of that mess, I did not care about who Olivia ultimately chose, because everything

Christ. The juxtaposition of reprehensible human being to incredible artist is as amazing as his albums.

The Odd Couple lacked a standout single like "Crazy" or "Fuck You", but I thought the album worked all the better for it. TOC was more cohesive and arguably zanier than St. Elsewhere, and every track was perfectly timed. "Whatever" is still a favorite. Then Cee Lo created what has to be one of the best (if not THE

The first one was derivative but competent compared to the later movies. I have a soft spot for the 2nd one (Apocalypse), only because the producers at least tried to be similar to the games. In my defense, my eyes were less calibrated to quality work then, so if I re-watch Apocalypse these days, I'd probably cringe a

If it helps, after 9/11, there was a period of five or so years when the thought of NYC destruction made everyone super uncomfortable. What used to be fun to imagine turned into a nationwide lesson of "reality ensues". By 2007, judging from Heroes season one's central plot, generally speaking, no one needed trigger

Fair enough. :P

So the writers brought back Hollis Doyle, after two and a half seasons of unexplained absence…and turned him into ersatz Donald Trump.

Well, he's no longer tied to Shondaland these days, a la Private Practice and Scandal, so who knows? His surprise return in late season four was literally the only reason I was excited during the series finale (season four lost me, otherwise).

Sigh. After watching this episode, the first thing I thought was "man, nothing in that episode worked. At ALL".

I needed that laugh.

Every week doesn't have to be CotW, as long as the episodes are as solid as this one. Besides, season five's first two episodes had the least interesting CotWs so far, so right now, I'm not craving for more. Season two had a good mix of both styles, which seems to be what season five is going for.

These last two episodes reinforce what a huge mistake it was for Shonda to integrate B613 into the main storyline for seasons three and four. Nearly everything outside of the spy drama worked pretty well, and the B613 stuff was…mercifully brief but apathy inducing. Season five would have worked even better with the

Eccleston was so underused in the series, it hurts. That training montage with him and Peter was the greatest real life version of "DBZ Saiyan saga Piccolo/Gohan training-from-hell" that I've seen.

Upvoted for YLNLYM alone

Actually, that was Eli/Rowan who revealed the affair to the press. Mellie's claims were made but easily denied by White House staff. Still, point taken. That's what I hoped season three would be as well (i.e., Olivia being the scandal instead of the fixer) before the B613 and Mama Pope crap got started.

I agree. Olivia and Fitz's love scenes are 100% pure passion gold, but as a non-sexual couple, they are not good for each other. They lost that element after Defiance (or arguably during Defiance).

We don't care that Scandal will never be Mellie's show. We just want the show to be GOOD in spite of that, and it's not good anymore. Besides Mellie's character at this point has degraded as much as the Olivia/Fitz drama, but it's the show's surrounding elements that have take a colossal nose dive that really hurt.

Let me preface what I'm about to say with this. I was a huge fan of Scandal seasons one and two, and to this day still defend the show's high points from the show's numerous detractors who love trashing it, because their favorite TV shows keep getting cancelled. I've admired the show's tenacity to fight getting even
