"What the crap is this fuck."

I won't argue over anyone who thinks DKC1 was overrated, but the second game stomps all over it in every way possible. Visually, DKC2 was more sublime, the difficulty was far more ruthless, and even DKC1's pretty good soundtrack felt like a warm up to David Wise's genius score for the sequel. DKC2 deserved all the

I'm VERY late to the re-watch party, but hey. Better late than never for avclub to remind me that Lost is still fucking awesome. :)

LOL

Definitely. Before this, the only deviation to the flashback formula was Desmond's season 3 episode, and the writers made sure we knew from the beginning that this wasn't quite the same "flashback" as the other ones. The sneak attack was definitely appreciated.

HAHA, I just mentioned that a minute ago. I didn't pick up on the phone thing, but another fan thought it was a weird coincidence that his phone was the same model's as flash forward Jack's. He found the coincidence hilarious, but was convinced the phone was either product placement, a continuity error, and/or a

I remember silently yelling "WHAT?!" and then going through 1846264 variations of "OMG" and "holy shit!" as the episode slowly ended. Immediately after the epsiode ended, I went to one of my favorite message board forums to talk about the damn thing, but with few responses, I had a lot of pent up fake conversations in

Correct. Desmond and Sawyer were the two red herring endings.

To quote a EW.com comment, "just look at the flowers Shireen."

Eh, not quite the case for me. S6 had some standout episodes (the premier, "Ab Abterno" "The Candidate", Desmond's episode, and the last two episodes), but during the original airing, I wasn't exactly enthralled with the material presented. Jacob/MiB aside, none of the newer characters were compelling at all. Instead

I'll defend my love for "Lost" until I die, because no other show or movie has ever portrayed faith in such a nuanced, complex, and emotional way than "Lost" did for me. I probably should wait until next week to say this, but "Through the Looking Glass" is especially poignant for this reason.

"Lost" made me feel sad many times, but the finale is what finally broke me. As much as season six disappointed me, the series finale was a bundle of emotional perfection.

At the very least, try out the first Prime. The opening sequence will pull you in, guaranteed, and the rest of the game is even better, especially the Phendrana Drifts. Greatest snow level music ever after Donkey Kong Country 2 (i.e., "In A Snowbound Land")

I played some of the NES Metroid when a friend unlocked the game for me through Metroid Prime (for those who don't remember, after you finish Metroid Fusion, you register your file onto your Gamecube to unlock the game).

On the more serious side, I can relate in smaller instances of double consciousness smacking me upside the head with awkward situations. In my case, it's often other black people who judge my blackness in a more critical light. It's uncommon enough to not affect me long term, but I hear it sometimes.

"You could say he was the Charlie of the department, he comes in and he very loudly (or it seemed that way because, after the verdict, you could hear a rat pissing on cotton)"

Vince Gilligan described the writing process for "Breaking Bad" in that fashion: nothing but writing his characters out of corners. Watch the show with that perspective, especially as a rewatch bonus, and it's amazing how the writers frame the scenarios so well without feeling forced or contrived.

Dear god, no. No, no, no, no, NO. That episode was the worst of the entire series, and can't be skipped through, like "Stranger in a Strange Land". That episode failed on every level imaginable.

It should also be noted: just because something's unpredictable doesn't make it good. That's precisely why so many shitty movies with twist endings exist.

If I were to guess, those fans were from Entertainment Weekly. I'm afraid to look. The last time I posted my critical opinion of the show, I got eviscerated. Oddly enough, that was right around the time I found this place, and its critical "YOLO" review. I hardly looked back ever since.
