Can’t star this enough for one of my favorite Bill Hicks bits. Relevant video clip for the uninitiated (NSFW audio, obviously):

I wouldn’t say there’s a must-play to prepare for 5, since it will likely be made such that you can jump right in without knowing anything, just like the two games that came before it. That said, if you want to get a good feel for the universe and how about 80% of the game mechanics will likely work, I’d say pick up 3

While it is true that the games can stand on their own to anyone unfamiliar, I think 3 and 4 are in the same universe at least. Even though the “other world” of each operates differently, there are some pretty big commonalities between them. Persona 4 Arena also bridges the gap in a pretty significant way, but even in

Sounds about right.

No doubt the modern Legacy has grown a bit soft and portly, but the one being driven here was of a much more appropriate vintage.

Some other “not rally cars” in attendance at the same event:

Did the same thing here a few years ago after finding an ‘05 with 33k miles. Even at 1/2 the cost of a new Outback 3.6 at the time (2012), it felt like a much better choice. As long as you deal with its known issues (catted up pipe, turbo oil feed banjo bolt, etc.) and pay heed to Subaru downgrading the OCI to 3750

Still learning Japanese here, but I think I might be able to award additional bonus points for what appears to be 幸運.

Had to do a double-take recently after seeing a seemingly stock USDM Nissan Rogue with an additional X-Trail badge on the back. I couldn’t tell if I was staring a dealership BS “special edition” or someone who genuinely intended to give a nod to its twin for the rest of the world. Considering the vehicle in this

Would love to be ungreyed :-)

How about some manner of track day focused vehicle or kit that’s still within the realm of being driven regularly, if only just?

You gotta work for it, but the best things in life never come easy.

Another one of my favorites in a similar vein. The fun starts at 1:50. Just be sure you turn down the volume first.

Not a horror story per se, but perhaps a wildly inappropriate experience will suffice:

I’m up to about 91k miles in my NC (75k of which are mine) and I still look forward to driving it every single non-winter day. It has just enough room for my 6’2” self and has been extremely reliable (yes, even the top) in spite of all the spirited driving and occasional autocross it sees. Getting 29-30mpg on every

Might be better off with the ND. It’s rated at 27/30/34 (manual transmission), and if it’s like any of the previous generations, it won’t be difficult to hit the upper end of that spectrum even while beating on it. For instance, I have trouble doing any worse than 28-30 from a highway/city mix driven spiritedly in my

I had the pleasure of visiting Kinkakuji last year. I had heard of it before, but was still caught off-guard by how gorgeous it was in person (especially in direct sunlight). Crowds weren’t too bad, but then again, I was there in January. It’s definitely a must-see if you’re ever in Kyoto. Same goes for Kiyomizu.

Been in the GT series since #3. I remember being a bit surprised at how good it was at the time.

Seconding this as an owner of one. It’s not perfect by any means (low 20s MPG if you’re lucky, not so great steering and transmission feel, demanding maintenance, slightly dodgy interior electronics/switchgear, etc.), but the fact that it does so many things well is very endearing. It’s the best looking Outback to
