I know packing the batteries is the tricky part, but If you could get the motor, controllers, cooling, etc. packaged into the same bolt pattern as say, an LS or a 454, something common, you could basically bolt in the easier bit, and spend time/money packaging batteries.

I think you’d be okayish in this, since they all have bespoke chassis from Art-Morrison, and those chaps know what they are doing. But yes, an offset head-on in this would kill you, but that type of crash would kill you regularly right up until recently.

This is the ticket I think. Going to the after market to change plastic dial bezels with 3d printed metal ones? Swapping the console trim with a fancy faux carved one? Replacing the entire dash insert with a new design to refresh your car?  These all seem like really good ways for the average joe to keep a car feeling

With the rise of automation and streamlined manufacturing process, I hope we see more of this. The 1930s-1960s or so had amazing options lists, and nearly every car was slightly different. Keeping the drivetrains to a minimal number is definitely more efficient, but offering more options for interior and exterior mods

I think the boom bust is inevitable.

Out of the Colorado river?

Drove one of these for about 4 summers growing up. They have way more power than their weight can really handle so you can get into trouble quick (Big wheelies if you dont pick up a bogged down cultivator in time)

Low compression is king because gas will get bad quickly and you need to be able to burn anything you can find. In reality though, I think that after a year tops you’d be done driving in a full societal collapse, so its all kinda moot.

Seriously. Put it on some wagon wheels or something period correct and you could ask a little more for it (Not more than 17k, thats crazy, more than say 5k, which is around what this is worth)

Have you upgraded the ignition system at all? I highly recommend getting a larger cap with brass plugs and a taller rotor. It worked an absolute treat on mine to really wake up the engine. Its also takes about 20 minutes and is pretty cheap. I recently put an MSD CDI box on my 258 and its been one of the best upgrades

I think the Project Binky guys, based on their meticulousnes, will likely finish up a dry fit of the entire project before getting it fully coated/primed/painted. Also, modern paint and sealers are hugely more effective than the old ones. A proper primer and paint will keep rust a bay for a long, long time.

Protip: Hit up Small Cheval in Wicker Park that only serves the burgers and fries. Maybe not quite as good as the main restaurant, but no wait.

mmm Scramblers. Good choice.

My guess is that they are all bro-dozered out and therefore attract a lot of attention. and doing 45 in a 30

I see on the configurator that it has (2) 4wd options. If one were to offroad this in any capacity (I’m thinking the offroad trails in say, Big Bend) would you suggest the regular 4wd or the 4-Low system? Is there any appreciable difference on this rig?  I’m not particularly in the market for a new car now, but a

True! I forgot. Dirt Everyday actually took one offroading and it seemed to handle it pretty well. I like the look of em well enough and honestly if I had to buy a new car It’d be up on my list, cause I think theyre cool small cars.

I agree. Though that fact that its only fwd means its a poser. Plus, 7 slots man, 7 slots.

This is why deadspin is the best sports site

Hell, yeaaa. Pound em down flat and fry the shit out of em.
