As with a lot of civil liberties cases, what bothers me isn't that so much what the government is doing, but that there doesn't seem to be any oversight on the program.

"worse" as in. . . more gay? That sentiment is rather offensive towards the gay community, no?

Do I have to make the joke, or does everyone get it already?

In point of fact, interns are specifically *not* supposed to be doing the things "the rest of the office does." Interns are not supposed to be doing work that paid staff would otherwise be doing.

Turbo Texas Hold'em. Old enough that I have to run a virtual XP machine to install it.

I've seen some other responses to losing. . .

Basically, what this guy said. This fact combined with the lack of customizability in buying notebooks makes me adopt a totally different approach from desktops.

I agree that it'd be nice, but I don't think it'd be terribly useful since notebook cards are generally found alongside notebook processors.

I totally thought this was an infantry halftrack from Company of Heroes before I read the title. Then, before I started to brain, I was terrified for a moment that COH2 was going to get an Xbox release and be ruined.

I find this credible, but I think there are better options than even the carrier's website. I'm on Verizon too, and when I wanted to upgrade last (Jan 2012), the phone I wanted (Galaxy Nexus) was about $100 cheaper new through Amazon Wireless than any other source, including Verizon's online storefront.

Thanks a lot for spreading this information. I'll be buying a first car later this year.

Troll level: mastery.

Just in case: you do realize that this is just the "box", right? I don't mean to condescend; I've helped friends & family build their first machines in the past, and the "What do you mean, it doesn't come with a monitor, mouse and keyboard?" question comes up about 70 percent of the time.

I dropped almost $200 on a set of sheets the month I started grad school, largely because I'd gotten a pretty nice hand-me-down mattress from a friend who moved away and because I was feeling flush with student loan money. There are some things I wish I'd been more frugal about when I was in school, but those sheets

In DC, we don't hold with people bringing food onto the metro, but otherwise I agree wholeheartedly.

Having information about the state of the market is valuable when negotiating a salary, just like any other negotiation. The employer obviously knows the salaries and (I hope) the productivity of all your coworkers, so it seems reasonable to want to have that information yourself. Perhaps you don't need to know

Well, for what it's worth, I totally bought into the ATK hype, at least until the 4.0 redesign that broke it. Thanks for that link – I am thoroughly disabused of that notion.

How'd they tip? When I waited tables, I always interpreted a tip above 20% as the tipper's apology for how shitty someone else at the table was.

Not nearly as bad; it's entirely fallacious to equate the two.

I believe those concerns relate to products that purport to charge your device *faster* than a wall charger, while ASUS seems to have made the wall charger rate their target rate with this utility. I'd guess that safe limits to the charging speed was their major constraint.
