Did Barker read the audiobook? Last time I heard him speak he sounded like a cross between Louis Armstrong singing and Harvey Fierstein speaking. Very gravelly and gruff, probably from the thyroid or throat problems he had.

I think it may depend on which ones you read first. I read Weaveworld first and it was a revelation to me. When I read the Art books and Imajica, I loved them but they didn’t quite hit me like Weaveworld did.

I lost my Barker boner many years back with Sacrament, which I found to be very weak. I tried out Coldheart Canyon as well and found it wanting. Maybe he will never reach the heights of The Damnation Game, Weaveworld*, Imajica, The Great and Secret Show** and Everville again, but God damn it, he reached those heights…
