Looking at Ezra Miller, I can't imagine it being dark and gritty. Dark and emo, douchey-millenial maybe. I hope I'm wrong, but the horror that COULD happen...

For this movie I hope it is very dark and gritty. The TV show is a delight, mostly upbeat and funny even when serious shit is going on. It also nails poignancy and the interplay between characters is spot-on and realistic (for the most part.)
