I know nothing about people bombarding the site. I go there for Tweet Beat only. But there is crossover between the Gawker media sites, so occasionally a Jezebel article will show up on io9 and I see it there.

This is true. I only go there for Tweet Beat anymore, and that too is usually a disappointment. For that matter, so is most of Gawker media, although io9 is always a MUST-GO site daily.
