I can understand and respect how people disagree with specific events like this. We all interpret issues differently based on personal and professional experience.

Its not correcting me when you choose to dismiss the content of blog comment due to my usage of ellipses. You never corrected me....you were simply condescending. The funny thing about grammar nazis is they get so wrapped up in the "rules" of a language that they often are less able to hold a conversation than those

your are a hoot....did you read my response to you? I will clarify...obviously critiquing and learning from the dead are not about them....its about us, our communities and our goals. I spend a lot of time in parks and public lands and its about time we stopped using language that releases individuals from scrutiny

Its not about them learning their lesson its about how others do. We provide some level of merit to their actions when we use words like sad or tragedy. I see it all of the time in outdoor pursuits.

Great book. We canyoneer, raft and hike in the Grand Canyon and I use that book as a reference my friends all of the time.

I am at a point in my life when I no longer see humans behaving poorly and dealing with accurate, natural consequences as either sad or tragic. In all seriousness......shame on them for being foolish enough to leave their kids parentless and forcing them to see your death. I mean, what do people think barriers next

Its seem pretty simple that I sex offender should not be trusted to participate in these types of school sports with such a short incarceration. How can 9 months affect any meaningful change in the predilections for sexual violence of a young man like this?

Well written and powerful piece. I hope the authors know there are readers who stand beside them in this situation. I am lucky not have the gifs posted to me (I assume b/c I take on a male name in my account) but I have witnessed how much these violent comments change the users and affect their community

hehe....at 35 now I just don't play as much during the heat of the summer. It is kinda unfortunate that I landed in the desert with my propensities but I have learned to adapt. I love backpacking and rafting during the spring and fall. Ski instructor during winter so too busy then.

Definitely my thing...raft 30+ days a year, backpack about the same, was a canyoneering guide, thru-hiked the AT and CT, worked as a wilderness therapy guide, etc. Has been a rough few years adjusting to my body's changes but I won't give up what makes me happy, though I will adapt when needed. I don't hike or

Been to the ER twice for heat related injuries in the last decade. Had to be lowered 300 feet down an overhanging cliff once and waited for a SAR team to carry me out on a litter. Worst experience of my life. Was having full body shakes/spasms and dry heaving for hours. Luckily there was some shade and a nurse

I would love to be at the Burn again and experience a rainstorm. Seen plenty of epic sandstorms but never the rain.

That may be why we see it differently. I just wrote the "Got Autism" off as directly related to "Got Milk" which was never a hurtful or means spirited ad campaign. I was a teenager when those ads came out so I didn't see any other connotation there.

I reread my comment and I have to say its not even all that snarky, especially compared to fundamentally wishing someone to have skin cancer. I have to understand how someone who posts like you can be convinced of much on the internet. I challenged your statement and asked for proof having cited the problems with

It was snarky but not an insult. You have made patently false claims multiple times using pseudo science. Science has a simple fair definition which involves recognizing when empirical evidence supports a conclusion and when it does not. You have ignored that important distinction and proclaimed ideas that fly in

Sorry you don't believe in science, that makes a rational, meaningful conversation on cancer extremely difficult. And to be clear...you understand one type of cancer only. It may be the one kills the most but talk to anyone that has experienced other types and its no less serious to them. All reliable sources

Those are interesting links that have been helpful for me to read. Gotta do some more research.

I never made the claim but will articulate and try to find support from what I have studied. But I made a comment because of your specific claim about the issue with sunscreen ingredients.
