So Eddie Redmayne gets an award for playing a transgender person, but Scarlett Johansson takes flak for it?

The weird thing about making movies is that they are expensive to make and the people who front the money for them expect to get the money back. Ideally with some extra money on top! That’s one of the reasons why some actors are paid more than others. They draw an audience to the box office! There’s a good chance that

I’d love to have an RV and travel the country on a whim. But no part of that dream of freedom includes living in a compound with a bunch of fancy assholes.

I know its hard for people on here to understand why everyone doesnt just live apartments and drive stupid little cars, but I would imagine if you are retired and dont want to just be in one place, this is great. You can take off to yellowstone for a month, or live in a different state one season. Would be pretty

Funny to brag about not owning a house while your RV costs as much as a nice house. (and will not appreciate in value)

So, I guess that’s it. Jesse Singal is drawn to covering trans issues because he is concerned that giving teens hormones “could have a bad ending”

I know people are deeply upset about what Signal writes. But I would point out that as an ally who is not fully up-to-date on all of the debates around trans issues, Signal comes off as quite reasonable in almost all of the screen-quoted conversations. To be clear, I’m not saying he is being reasonable. I don’t know

What on earth was the point of this article? The entire internet is full of people writing articles and a bunch of other people shouting in agreement right below them. It’s happening in this comment section too!

“that trans men and boys don’t really exist nor should they.”

So I guess TERF is just a meaningless slur now. Since apparently it encompasses both radical feminists on the left who have a problem with the underlying extreme misogyny driving young women, girls really, to reject femaleness as a reaction to realizing the nature of our patriarchal society; and conservatives who

What was the hateful, transphobic conclusion Singal started with? Is there a not hateful, non-transphobic way to be wary about the use of hormones or hormone blockers in young children with body dysmorphia or some sort of gender identity issue? It seems like there isn’t. Walker specifically criticized anything less

I don’t have a dog in this fight - but I’ve read several stories about transitioning where its implied someone knew they weren’t meant to be a woman because they weren’t thrilled or excited about getting their period or buying their first bra.

TLDR: “I’m trans and I am threatened by the existence of de-transitioned people because my identity is so fragile it cannot withstand any scrutiny”.

“Most doctors are still reluctant to prescribe hormones to minors, so a lot of trans minors end up waiting until 18, anyway.”

The truth is that non-morons (read: landscape professionals) transport quantities like that by trailer or via dump truck.

A good portion of the Stonewall Riots that every shares is a best a stretch the truth. To say it was lead by trans persons of color isn’t true from a majority of accounts that can be verified. That isn’t to say that drag queens and PoC weren’t there or weren’t participants or even part of the initial flare up.

Gross. Revolting. The almighty penis always front & center, a banner of aggression, anger, discord and lack of compassion. I am a hetero woman of the plainest variety. I have no dog in this fight other than rejecting such attacks on lesbian individuals, regardless of their personal beliefs, with all my being. As long

We’ve been seeing those “Punch a TERF” signs here too. However, most trans people I know are horrified by them.

Apparently lesbians who don’t want to sleep with people who have penises (because they’re lesbians, go figure) will not only not be allowed at Pride but will be punched and/or threatened with lynching:

Let me help you out- I actually work in a field that deals (not exclusively) with victims of sex trafficking. You know who doesn’t get to speak for them? People who are not victims of sex trafficking. That includes consensual sex workers.
