Disco Kiss!

For me it was a scene early in the first Witcher game. You meet a healer/witch named Abigail and help her gather some things to heal the villagers. The villagers become convinced she has cursed them and want to kill her. The choice is you either defend her from the villagers or turn her over to them. I tried so many

I'd choose "The Assistant," but then again I've always been a little perpippity.

I just got done reading that after hearing about it on of all places the Gilbert Gottfreid podcast. It's an interesting read. You end up with Welles's life as told by grumpy old Orson. All I had to do was imagine him saying "in July, peas grow there" and his parts of the conversation came alive.

It's actually two tracks. A straight-out Nick Cave creeper with a long-ass Latin title, and Nick and the Dirty Three doing the show's theme.

Love Fun In Space. Electric Fire isn't bad either.

One thing I always liked about Queen was that their fame was almost entirely fan-driven. To say that they had a difficult relationship with the press was an understatement. But yet despite the Christgau's of the world shitting all over their albums, they still sold well and their concerts were almost always full.

I can't watch that movie anymore without picturing Kurgan yelling "Spongebob! Get in here!"

If you get the chance, read "Queen Unseen" by Peter Hince. Pete (aka Ratty) was a Queen roadie for most of their career and was Fred and John's tech on tour. You don't get a lot of dirt on the band, but you get a lot of tangential information that paints an honest picture.

I'm listening to that in the car now. Well, not "now," but when I'm driving. It's great to hear all these early songs done live, and the band sounds so relaxed.

Well that and he saw it as the embodiment of Fred's hedonism that was going to do him in. It's fun watching videos of Brian talking about songs he obviously doesn't like.

But by not having that, the thought that she only "saves" beings who have sacrificed themselves for the Doctor is strengthened.

Rusty the Dalek
was a lethal, vengeful soul
with a eyestalk blue and a shot so true
and rather crazy on the whole

At first I was sure that Danny was headed for the Mickey role - companion's boyfriend who is never quite sure about the Doc's intentions. But with Capaldi being so Scottish, and old, hopefully he'll end up being more Rory-like. And if the rumors of Jenna leaving are true, I'd like to see her and Danny get a

Ugh. That's going to be it isn't it? Missy is collecting people/robots/things that have somehow willfully died for the Doctor (it'll turn out that the Phantom of the Amusement Park jumped) to parade in front of him in the finale. Or it still could be the Library's computer uploading beings who have done noble deeds.

It took me three attempts to get through ACoD. I hate, hate, hated Ignatius J. Reilly. He represented everything I disliked about some people, especially their on-line personas. But somewhere around page 100 (don't quote me on that number) something changed and instead of just Iggy taking advantage of the world,

That year "Sheela-Na-Gig" was getting a fair amount of airplay on the Rhode Island Alt music station I used to listen to. I got sent to Honolulu on business and called up Radio Free Hawaii (possibly the most awesome concept of a radio station ever) and requested it. They had never heard of PJ. I told them that I

I'm just glad that the early season "spoilers" that had Bianca leaving after a runway hissy fit seem to have been false. Probably just a Logo-started rumor to try and not make it too obvious that Mama B was walking away with the season. And I'm really glad that they didn't make her age a big thing this year. She could

And a lot of her nastiest work was in the talking head segments, where I'm sure they're encouraged to be bitches. She still had some uncomfortable moments in the Untucked lounge - but I don't know how much of that was just social ineptness or the girls pausing for reaction shots anytime anything remotely shady was

I flip-flop on Darienne. As a 40-something chubby guy I really want to like her, but that nasty-streak is off-putting. I know some of it is an edit, but she really does seem to cross the line between read and personal attack on occasion. Some of it may be the seemingly mandatory big girl self-criticism escaping
