I just got done reading that after hearing about it on of all places the Gilbert Gottfreid podcast. It's an interesting read. You end up with Welles's life as told by grumpy old Orson. All I had to do was imagine him saying "in July, peas grow there" and his parts of the conversation came alive.

It's actually two tracks. A straight-out Nick Cave creeper with a long-ass Latin title, and Nick and the Dirty Three doing the show's theme.

One thing I always liked about Queen was that their fame was almost entirely fan-driven. To say that they had a difficult relationship with the press was an understatement. But yet despite the Christgau's of the world shitting all over their albums, they still sold well and their concerts were almost always full.

If you get the chance, read "Queen Unseen" by Peter Hince. Pete (aka Ratty) was a Queen roadie for most of their career and was Fred and John's tech on tour. You don't get a lot of dirt on the band, but you get a lot of tangential information that paints an honest picture.

I'm listening to that in the car now. Well, not "now," but when I'm driving. It's great to hear all these early songs done live, and the band sounds so relaxed.
