@gemcosta: When I demo-ed it in the store, the flickering bothered me. Now that I have started using it more, however, I hardly notice it.

@whatne1wuddo: You can copy them directly via USB & Calibre (which is the most amazing piece of open-source software I've encountered this year).

A nice upgrade...but I'm still happy with my $110 refurb (like new) Kindle 2.

I'm very pleased with my $110 refurb that I picked up about a week ago.

Remarkable how 1080p is becoming the standard for hand-held videography. But is this sort of like the megapixel boom for digital cameras, where quality of the final image had little to do with the resolution specs?

@draper3000: Here's a hint. Apple sold it to me about 6 months early - but they did me a favor by connecting it directly to the CPU housing and putting it on an elegant stand.

This is GREAT for...who, again?

Hey, I've already got one of these! It's attached to my tiny $850 Quad-core i5 running Snow Leopard. And it's a beauuuuty.

@Gareth Freshwater: And pray tell, good sir, does that PC run Snow Leopard natively? If not, then you can keep your £700.

@Nitemancometh: The carryover of 3GB RAM is a bit paltry, I must admit. $400 laptops at OfficeMax have 3GB RAM.

@whmr: Sure, you can build a PC for less money. But can you build a metallic processing tank capable of withstanding a subatomic explosion for less?

@Maave: FWIW, I have the Radeon 4850 512mb from the pre-refresh i5 27", and I have GTA IV running at 1920.1200 and its runs incredibly well.

This is actually the first time that I really don't regret having purchased an iMac i5 27" a couple of months ago. I got it for a great deal then (about $1850) and am still thrilled with it.

I love Post-It Note.

Can't wait to see what they'll do for the inevitable 2015 re-release.

@Mindfield: The DVDs were outstanding, IMO. I picked out details that I had never noticed before in all 3 films. Especially from the first film.

@dave_t: This is a discussion we need to be having everywhere. If Gizmodo can find a technological angle, which they have, I'm all for it. And if the discussion happens in the comments rather than in the story, then so be it.

Has ANYONE purchased one of these new in the past 6 months? If so - you are a colossal fool.

@zjgz: I've heard that argument from other Nook users. So, essentially the keyboard's "existence" bothers you?
