@coreyog: Sounds like an exciting prospect, although a week is an awful long time to spend with someone with whom you've never spent any in-person time. Good luck!

@JerryA: That completely sucks, and I would be be upset if I were in your shoes. But I'm not. I've purchased from monoprice a number of times and have had no trouble of any kind, including the most expectation of keeping my credit card info safe (as far as I know). Lots of companies have had problems with data…
Let me be the 100th person to recommend monoprice.com—I've never had any problems when ordering from them. The prices are great, the selection is great, and the service has met my expectations.
@TheyCallMeMcyver: Agreed—it is a great read. Highly recommended.
One point of clarification: just because a seed is a "one-use seed" doesn't mean it is genetically modified. These kinds of seeds—more correctly and commonly called "F1 hybrids" or just "hybrids"—are seeds that produce different results in the first generation after hybridization than in any subsequent generation.
@mesalion2: Practically any perennial will be the same as a fruit tree—they cost very little to plant the first year, very little to maintain, usually need less water than annuals, and continue to give and give, often more productively each year.
@spacecoyote: It does seem awfully expensive. I have a large garden and maintain an even larger garden for a family member—together, they are probably around 2000 square feet. I spent $250 on soil amendments and seeds (over 75 different kinds) this year. We have all kinds of stuff—a dozen kinds of greens, a dozen…
@Ninja Nemo: Sure, share them!
@Billiam_Bisquits: Looks like I'll need to do some reading about Rainmeter (and maybe Python).
@derilium: If I understand accurately, to use a Google calendar with Rainlendar you have to pay, right? I'm really looking for a free solution if possible.
@Star Vixen: What if you want to make jam or pie or something? I assume it's faster or safer than a knife.
@acunat: I'm looking for the same thing—a calendar-looking (not a list-formatted) list of appointments coming up in the next month, integrated right into my Windows 7 desktop. Ideally it would be free. Hope someone here has the answer!
@apaulo2004: That was it! Thank you so much!
@apaulo2004: Hmmm, I did use WinSCP to do it, but I don't remember if I checked the box to apply the attributes recursively. I'll check on that (sorry for the bad pun) this evening. Thanks!
@apaulo2004: I wish it were so. I respring. I go to netflix.com. It recognizes me as an iPad. I choose a movie. It launches the Netflix app. And finally, the Netflix app opens up for about 1 second, then crashes me back to the springboard.
I have not been successful in getting this to work on my 3G, either with 3.1.3 or with 4.01. I used jailbreakme.com for both jailbreaks and then followed these directions (except for using UAFaker instead of using another browser). In both cases, Netflix crashes immediately after being loaded every time. Any ideas?
This is not a surprise—like many others, I was very excited about what Wave might become. But then I used it, and my high hopes quickly became, "meh". Performance was terrible. Adoption was slow. It didn't really get me much more than email + chat. Pretty soon, I abandoned it, as did most people I know. If they…
Any suggestions on how best to stream media (especially music, but potentially video) from a WHS to an iPhone?
@Xeno: That would work just fine. Any suggestions on what kind of card to get to do that? I would probably use WMC to record and view the content.
I would like to get be able to capture live TV on my computer, but I'm not familiar with the various standards (Clear QAM, CableCARD, etc.). Here's my setup: I (currently) have DirecTV and would be going through a DirecTV receiver to the computer (a Win7 or WHS box). What kinds of TV tuner cards will work for me?
