@emaline: Thank you for saying this—I feel like that's gotten lost in a lot of comments on this thread.

@angryyoungwoman: I think the level of bullying must vary depending on the school and the community—as does all bullying, I guess. In high school, my brother (who was in the Life Skills program at the same school I was) actually was friends with more of the officially popular kids than I was, partly because there was

@voteforme: If you actually read the document at the site, you'll see that they admit to knowing that he had disabilities but not knowing his name (but knowing a previous nickname). I don't know why you are so concerned about how they could deduce that he had disabilities. Does it make the scenario worse to you if he

@voteforme: Did you even read the link?

@angryyoungwoman: No offense, but just because you didn't see it after second grade didn't mean it didn't happen. Bullying PWD was incredibly common when my brother (who is disabled) was a kid 25 years ago. The stories may be more common in the news, but that has to do with the news.

@voteforme: They didn't know his name because they didn't bother to learn it. It doesn't really have anything to do with what classes he was in.

@voteforme: Jesus. I think possibly you mean there are a lot of issues with culture-wide ableism? Because otherwise you sound like a victim-blaming asshole.

@voteforme: I think the point is that Jorge Garcia is also an attractive person.

@laurasaurus: Yeah, there was a little swirly noise, too, that I thought indicated the magical "we are switching to English but let's all pretend it's Latin" moment.

@girlwonder: I'm surprised we haven't heard more from the smoke monster activist community.

@andhowever: I am totally with you on the bi thing. I've seen people write that Lindsay Lohan is a "sometimes lesbian" or something along those lines, as well. Dear World, there is a word for people who like both men and women.

@mbot: Is this real life?

@alexandrahamilton: Seconded! Thanks especially for the tips for glasses wearers.

@sarahbear: Yeah, I kept thinking that if I were going to an event with the President, I would not want to wear a strapless gown. Maybe that's my rack-of-doom-biased perspective, though.

@Sugarshock: Me too, especially the opening scene of the movie, when the cafe blows up and there is no softening of the violence whatsoever.

@myBearHands: That was my interpretation, as well. The modern-day version of "cannon fodder."

@imagenkant: I am sorry about your daughter.
