@Jessika: I thought Mr Machine and I were the only ones who still call him Batmanuel! Be still my heart!

@copious: I agree with you about the "porn star" reference. I was once shopping for bras, and the woman next to me held up a bra and said to her friend, "Look, this is for the tiny girls who get boob jobs." It was, in fact, my size at the time (32E), and if I'd been a braver person I would have said, "Right, like me!"

@The_Little_Boo: Seconded! I do not feel like myself without glasses—I don't recognize my own face. I adore them, and they are a major part of my style.

@SkaHimself: I'll trade you Cosmo for an "extra" 23 cents on the dollar.

@mazbot: I am psyched about it, too! My mom didn't teach me much beauty stuff, and I got all rebellious as a teen and decided makeup was a tool of the man. I'm 30 now, and it's only in the last couple of years that I've been really wishing I had experimented more at that age so I didn't feel clueless now.

@BejeweledEdificeOfCheese: Agreed about the confidence! Here is another example of a bigger woman who looks gorgeous with a pixie cut:

@Sweet Machine: Addendum: I have very thick, wavy hair and I went from a longish pixie (like in my avatar) to a true pixie last year, and I love it.

@JaneGalaxy: I have a very curvy body and very non-elfin facial features, and I adore my pixie cut. It's the most fun hair style I've ever had, and I've had some pretty awesome hair over the years if I do say so myself. You only have to be brave for the first cut!

@DorothyBarker: When do you put on the SPF moisturizer—in the morning, pre-makeup but post-washing?

@Dauphine: I did not know about the existence of minitweezers. Thanks!

@samantha_mae: This is surely TMI, but nobody told my queer teenage self that using tampons may be *significantly* easier after you've had penetrative sex of some kind. This might be obvious to everyone else on the planet, but it was not obvious to me and it was such a revelation the first time I tried to use one

I am really, really near-sighted, and thus have never been able to pluck my eyebrows properly. Without my glasses on, I have to get so close to the mirror to see that the hand with the tweezer in it no longer fits between my face and the glass. It's really only in the last couple of years that I've learned how to do

@Cimorene: I used to be totally fine with flying alone, but after having a panic attack on a plane while by myself last year (due to non-flying-related stress), I really prefer to fly with someone else. I used to like flying because I could just read for hours, but now the anxiety doesn't really let me do that. You

@rae_is: My friend who writes fiction had a boss who once told her, "You know where you should publish your stories? The New Yorker!" in that exact Gatsby way. So infuriating.

@PaigeTurner: I know—long, straight, dark blonde? How is this a trend?

@Birthday Girl: It is a really, really great album (though Mortal City is still my fave). But yeah, I still get misty-eyed at the line "And I have lost some kindness" in "When I Was a Boy." It makes my feminist heart go pitter-pat.
