Are you suggesting that the media is unfairly generous toward Duke? The level of hatred for Duke basketball is the highest irrational hatred index in all of sports.

A bit of a stretch to say NY is Carmelo’s hometown. He went to elementary school, middle school and high school in Baltimore. He also has a “West Baltimore” tattoo on his shoulder.
Different sports. Baseball and soccer are objectively worse on turf because of how the ball behaves when it hits the ground.
You’re not looking at things apples-to -apples unfortunately. Ratings just in the US miss and just for the World Cup miss the point.
I say this as someone who really likes Jahlil Okafor. He’s not putting up near those numbers if he isn’t playing on a team that loses by 20 every night where he’s spending most of his time playing against backups who want to get their own stats or rotation guys who know they’ll win and are trying to avoid injury.
Reminds me of when Man U signed Tim Howard and the tabloids declared that MUFC had signed a “disabled goalie” due to Tim’s Tourette syndrome.
I love that a fanbase who worships Richard Sherman thinks Cam “is an arrogant, unsportsmanlike, showboating douche canoe.” Hilarious.
Fair play. No footballing reason.
How many Brazilians play in England vs. how many are good enough to? The work permits are totally stacked against them. In a truly free market, there’s no reason Sunderland or Villa shouldn’t have 11 Brazilians and Argentines in their starting XI.
Brown was in Cleveland when he got there, so too Spo in Miami when he got there, and now ditto with Blatt. But sure, it’s LeBron’s fault somehow that teams keep hiring poor coaches before he gets there and then he has to live with that.
Right, because Blatt has such a history of success and has generally been proven to be a competent head coach. Remember, this is the guy with no NBA experience that a losing team with a nutso owner hired because no other options were available.
No Millwall in your cough stream? Or are they too thick to even know the move is happening?
Look man, I like Warren Moon a lot, but he doesn’t exactly have career stats or career championships on his side and to be “inarguably” in the top ten, you really ought to have one. I don’t know what to tell you, a lot of guys have lead the NFL in passing yards twice and have not had ideal coaching scenarios. Definite…
I love Warren Moon, but “inarguably a top 10 QB of all time,” is a bit much for a guy who lead the league in passing twice, never really played well in the playoffs and had a lifetime 291-233 TD to INT ratio.
One other aside: if Steph played in the hand-checking, hard foul era, it also means that people would have to guard him one-on-one all game with not help from zones, traps or any of the other tactics that get thrown at him all game long today.
Totally disagree. The cap goes up enormously next year and Brooklyn will have shed all its bad contracts. Will they be a championship team? No, but no one other than the Spurs, Dubs or Cavs will do that in the next 3 years.
You absolutely can fair catch a kickoff. It’s the reason why almost all expected onside kicks are chipped into the ground first, to eliminate the receiving team’s ability to fair catch the ball.
Only someone who is well-read would understand that.
I read the comment to say that he’s astonishingly well-read as a matter of degree, not that it was astonishing that he was well read. But perhaps that’s because like Kareem, I am also able to read properly.
I always loved Bob Cousy’s comment on how good Rondo was.
