I dream of a Division 3 that rips off Biomutant’s loot and crafting loop. (We know Ubi isn’t above snatching what works from other games.)

It already is! For clarity, that press release, and the accompanying video that’s gone on their YouTube, wasn’t up when I wrote this story.

It’s also been confirmed that GTA: San Andreas will be available on day one on Xbox Game Pass

I don’t disagree with the notion that the attachments and deck-building make it less pick-up-and-play friendly than L4D, but I also think that’s kind of a silly criticism to make. L4D would drown in a week if it were released today.

For better or worse, we just don’t live in the world of static arcade shooters

Isn’t it kinda/sorta more work to approach the story this way than it is the other way? The argument you’re making is essentially “why don’t they make it easier on themselves.”

I’ll paralyze you, but I won’t kill you.  I have rules.

With all the cool military sci-fi equipment Aliens just seems to be the perfect, easy to make, action game. It’s obviously not. The problem is, it’s almost impossible to balance. Everything we know about the Xenomorph, as the perfect organism designed to kill humanity, is that they are super scary, intelligent, and

Yeah this game isn’t really for you if you didn’t like Aliens or much of the expanded universe from novels/comics/games/toys.

When vaulting was first announced, they released the soon-to-be vaulted content as free to play first, so at least people got a chance to experience it.

The name “eFootball” reminds sounds me of all those knockoff smart devices that show up in the discount bins at tj maxx and Marshalls.

All this hubub and controversy about keyboard and mouse vs controller/gamepad, everyone who’s anyone knows proper games are played with a controller, mouse and keyboard is for doing taxes and logging onto Brazzers.

Firstly, it is very funny that when you want good press, Crystal Dynamics are a “world class team” behind games like Tomb Raider”

Video games are a scapegoat for low productivity and workforce engagement among young people by economists, because honestly the more likely options, that they are instead struggling with depression, can’t get a job, or can keep themselves afloat without needing a job thanks to the bank of Mom and Dad, are hard to fit

Pretty much all of the reviews which have a negative tone about the game, that I’ve seen, focus on this—how it’s *not* Isolation and doesn’t capture either the horror of the franchise’s roots or the theme of the franchise’s only (film) depiction of marines getting wrecked.

And I get that—I think it’s fair to say that

I still feel like ‘Aliens’, in videogames, just can’t get past the ‘John Carter’ problem: so, so, so many games - from Doom to Destiny, and everything in between - have borrowed so liberally from ‘Aliens’, that when you actually try and do a relatively straightforward ‘Aliens’ game... it just feels like you’re aping

I bet less than 10% of people under the age of 40 get that reference sadly.  Hopefully when the new movie comes out it isn’t terrible.  The last one was garbage piled on more garbage.

“It’s some dock supervisor down at Pier 34...He says the Titanic just arrived.”

But this one... is the moral really “that’s what you get, you introvert piece of shit!” Like, dude just wanted to hang out and not be bothered. That lead to him SURVIVING THE APOCALYPSE but still he’s the asshole?

actually something has bothered me about that episode for awhile and i never get to bring it up in my circles...

So, Twilight Zone tended to end with an Aesop-style moral at the end of the story. Being a basic bitch, my favorite is The Monsters Are Home On Maple Street. Perfect send-up of McCarthyism.

But this one... is
