Even without applying a number they could’ve easily come up with something better. “Xbox Series X” is not horrifically bad, but was it seriously worse than “Xbox Next” or “Xbox Pro”?

I’m finding myself deeply compelled to get this game, if only because I don’t think simply reading about the latest clusterfuck does it justice.
Too lazy to look it up but I would guess that Sony’s ownership of the film rights to Spider-Man extends to other media (console games included) and there’s no way that Disney can squeeze them similarly.
You touch on something that’s been nagging at me a while, which is how boring in background detail Disney Star Wars has been in contrast to Prequel trilogy Star Wars.
These guys did a fantastic job capturing Ralph McQuarrie’s style.
Mainly I was thinking about Destiny 2 and Ghost Recon Breakpoint when I wrote that comment - the former used a bullshit techno-magic plot device to explain the zeroing, the latter was just a shitshow overall that scrapped a lot of what made its predecessor so much fun.
Sequels in general are all too often a pain in the ass with that. If this game is a direct sequel and I’m playing as the same character (narratively), why the fuck am I starting at zero again?
I can’t remember a Star Wars video game that didn’t have double jump (or some sort of gravity defiance) for Jedi/Sith characters.
Well it’s only been five years. That’s way too quick for a sequel to have been produced and released or even announced in the interim.
I remember being 12 and spending hundreds of dollars on Star Wars CCG cards even though the game was batshit complicated and my friends and I never completed any of our half-dozen attempts at a game of it.
I left it suspended for maybe 15 hours on Xbox One X, and suddenly certain room transitions get stuck for like 90 seconds.
Fallen Order is fantastic.
My first and only foray into the series was a ~10 hour attempt at a stoop sale bought copy of Bloodborne, and my memory’s a little hazy about the climbing/jumping aspect. I think I remember ladders, or maybe that was some other game in my deep, deep backlog.
This game’s growing on me.
Well yeah, I heard those were both pretty awful, but I don’t think anybody should be really be holding some semi-obscure sequel novels from the 90s and a mega-marketed video game prequel to the original trilogy to the same standards - both for in-universe and out-of-universe implications.
Nice to see the warm-to-glowing reception for this game.
Well I was reading Kotaku for a distraction, needed something to take my mind off my wracked nerves due to the fact that in 27 hours and 13 minutes I’m taking my girlfriend/wife-to-be to Mt Sinai Hospital maternity ward to begin an induced labor for our son - first child for both of us.
Answer to all 40:
Good points. Sober, cogent, less cynical than mine.
Activision pisses their pants when some Hearthstone player that 99% of us have never heard of offends China over Hong Kong, yet doesn’t hesitate to make Russia the evil villain in their biggest game of the year.
