That’s a good idea, for any media that’s released in multiple installments, they should just have a page/video at the beginning saying “these are the gay characters” so it seems like a natural, non-PR reveal, unlike eventually showing it in the story.

When exactly would this have come up before? Outside Pharah and her mom, family really hasn’t played into anything until now.

I always like the responses that are like, “Why does my game have to be injected with this social agenda bullshit?”

Not releasing in Russia because legally, they cannot (it’d get removed, the whole ‘law’ thing) is not - I dunno... what’s an example of a game or product coming to the US or Europe, or anywhere... that was changed or pre-empted based on an actual law?

Believing that a video game comic in which two same-sex characters kiss one another is ‘thrusting values upon other people’ is as spectacularly stupid as believing that there are no gay people in Russia.

I have a sad feeling that they will ignore this one completely because it’s not propogatd by some form of “SJW” and doesn’t fit their narrative.

Russia as a culture is not responsible for this though. There are plenty of lgbt Russians and LGBT culture with Russian roots. The censorship here comes from their government. Culture and government are not interchangeable.

Finally some real censorship for the gamergate ninnies to whine about.

And yet they also can ruin their voices, their livelihood, for a measly $500.

That’s probably more indicative that game dev needs a union, not that voice actors need less. The fact is that a lot of employer practices for the big game companies are abusive to employees. The answer to that is not “well, then everyone should be abused”, it should be “what can we do to lift everyone else up as

Their base rate should be based off the budget of the project they are working on, this is how Hollywood structures their deals with Unions. Its one thing if you’re getting $500 to work on Joe Shmoe’s first Indy game that he spent his own 60 grand on to produce its another situation when a game budget is in the 10s of

Like Phil LaMarr says in that quote at the bottom, those questions are pitting actors against devs when they are all in the same boat, the devs who crunch, the actors who tear their throats out, they are all filling the coffers of the big cheeses at the top. Instead of “why should you get what i don’t?” They should be

And they shouldn’t answer that question. It’s a false equivalence. The whole industry is filled with shitty practices. The want to improve any of it should not justify the ridiculing anyone just because it’s not being done uniformly. That **** doesn’t happen in one fell swoop. Baby steps.

Right, it’s not as if U.S. presidents have taken their country to war based on a lie, or anything recently...

Hey, it’s a free country, I can’t legally stop you from fucking yourself, can only tell you it’s a bad idea that will lead the country to unimaginable strife.

It’s not like anyone is saying he doesn’t have the right to do it. It’s just that this is significant news. He’s trying to shape the political debate in this country in some way. That’s worth reporting on. And a lot of people are going to care.

Except I did just that. If I’m buying a console, it’s going to be a Nintendo console...because I’ve got PC for everything else.

Oh they played the game, and gave it an M — it says so in the article. The E on the back is a misprint.

She said she isn’t a member nor directly related to the site and doesn’t feel strong about it, even Megalian4 itself says they aren’t directly relayed to the controversial site Megalian.

Not sure you can blame this on the non-existent “Internet police” when this was an internal decision made with zero publicity before it happened.
