He needs two eyepatches….
Funny, I watch the show exactly because it doesn't push ships…they are there, but they are usually more a background aspect, not the main event.
Well, if I were Simmons I would try not to go that far away from however the monolith looks at the other side. Someone who is shipwrecked on an island also stays close to the beach and doesn't hike to the middle of it.
Sandwiches. Never underestimate the power of her sandwiches.
Really? A B? I for my part am glad that they didn't drag out Simmons rescue.
But this is a TV show, not a movie. Fox doesn't own any TV rights, they all stayed with or reverted back to Marvel. Fox can prevent Marvel from doing their own X-men TV show (based on an out-of-court agreement after Fox sued Marvel over this), but technically Marvel can put into their TV shows whoever they like (just…
AoS hasn't been a procedural for ages.
I actually like that Lincoln isn't that intense. He is basically a really good guy who wants to help other people, but he also has this dangerous ability.
I meant female lead Comic book show. The last one beforehand was Birds of Prey and that one was…unfortunate. Plus, the interesting thing is that ABC usually has trouble reaching the male demographic, I guess partly because the programming addresses females more. But Agent of Shield (and to a lesser degree Agent…
That's because Agent Carter is the first female lead show for ages, while AoS pretends to be an ensemble show built around Coulson, even though it is mostly about Skye…oops, Daisy.
What are you talking about? That her family lives in England is something we know since "The Well" in which it is specifically mentioned that she avoided her family after nearly dying. We also know that Fitz only has a mother, btw.
The exposition was the reason I eventually decided on a B+ instead of an A-
It's just different. Just like Agent Carter is different. You either like the style they picked or you don't, harping over it is pretty pointless, they won't suddenly change it. But going a little bit sterile fits AoS. It is after all a Spy show.
Yeah, I agree. I mean, even John Campea just officially admitted that he thought the premiere was awesome, and he normally disses the show at every opportunity. And what does this reviewer do? Basically whines because the show does the smart thing and concentrates on the characters which are currently relevant for the…
You need staying power…the first episodes seem meaningless (they actually aren't), but once the show gets going, it really gets going. It is unpredictable, which is the highest praise I can give any show. Meaning it is nearly impossible to foresee in which direction the characters will move next, but when they do, it…
It's the blame game. In every interview the people of Fox kept emphasising that the movie is Trank's vision and his alone, and he says the studio ruined it. I honestly don't care.
I watched it because someone pointed out the female characters in it. Which, yes, are very rounded. But that's really the only thing which speaks for the show. Overall, it is weighted down by the need to tell the audience something, which often results in pseudo philosophical talks which just feel artificial. You have…
Not really. "I was raped" simply doesn't have the same impact as seeing how Jack Randall first broke him down so that he would participate in his own torture, and then convinced him of thinking of Claire during the rape. We needed to see this to understand that Jamie thinks that he betrayed Claire by feeling enjoyment…
Even if you only judge by what is here and now, GoT has a history of throwing in pointless rape and sex-scenes. Outlander hasn't, and just delivered an episode which showed a rape victim falling apart, wanting to die and ended on a "I am getting better but I am still haunted by what happened" note.
Yeah, and most likely they will barely address it if at all, considering that they added the scene themselves. We will get some bs that Sansa is now stronger because she is a survivor. That's not what outlander does. There is great care put into pointing out that this is a scar which runs deep and will never totally…
TV is a visual medium. Showing what happened in flashbacks makes sense, and what was shown is important for the whole series. You just can't skip it, for multiple reasons. It is not enough to know that Randal raped Jamie. The audience had to understand that he broke him in every way you can break another human.
Game…
