I might be interested in this, but I’m concerned I won’t be able to realistically compete without being able to pay real money to build a viable deck.

Usually, the people who think this are actually the jerks or just genuinely creepy; they just don’t realize it because they are too busy playing the victim.

Never got into Ninja Gaiden 1 or 3, but I played the crap out of 2 whenever I could borrow a copy. I was blown away by the cut scenes. I never actually managed to finish the game. I always got stuck on the last level.

Well, that, and you have to actually be careful about how you play. You can’t just mash buttons and drink potions.

I think I’m looking at other games with save point systems, not comparing save point games with games that don’t have save points.
In that many games don’t even require to you find a save point, you’re right about it being very different.

Yeah. While the “save points” and life work the same in Dark Souls as they do “modern games,” getting to one or replenishing life isn’t as easy. The game has an unforgiving nature, too, that might be difficult to newer players who are used to being able to heal up and save right before every boss.
