Geller is a hateful moron, and yes, the purpose of the contest was purely to offend, but you’re way off base in suggesting that people should defer to the sensibilities of extremists in order to placate them.

I was an honor student and I didn’t go to ANY parties like this as a teen. I felt super superior to kids that did (probably as a defense to feeling left out of such activities).

I knew all about these teen tricks because I USED TO BE A TEEN.

This is a revelation to who? Who didn’t attend these kind of parties as a teenager? Or know people who did? Minus the social media and cell phones it seems like pretty much every “great” party I went to as a teenager down to asking older guys to buy alcohol. Hello. Are people that stupid?

They should fight eachother until one person gets KO’d or throw in the towel

And that’s why professional wrestling is so much better. You know the results are fixed, so you’re not really there for who won. You watch for the athletic prowess and the in-ring story.

“ They should fight eachother until one person gets KO’d or throw in the towel”

Well said. Only a few people actually notice that both sides are full of self obsessed lunatics.

Both sides are hateful moronic movements that exist solely to circlejerk each other to feel morally superior whilst accomplishing fuck all. You can take this article as an example.

Er, no, I mean I’ve seen union dudes crowd a woman near her car. They were “polite” but were asking her who she was going to vote for, and strongly urged her to vote for Reid. This was last election so, what, 5 years ago? I saw this with my own eyes. Lady had an old McCain/Palin sticker on her car so they knew who to

His union thugs have been known to hang out outside voting places downtown and harass people, yes.

Membership, status, same thing in my head which is why it came out wrong. Apologies.

I know people who’ve worked for various unions downtown who were told “Vote Democrat or your union status is revoked.” Point blank told this. It’d be one thing if it was just one person, but I’ve heard this from a lot of people, some of whom I am close friends to, each and every time election season comes up.

I’m born and raised Las Vegas native.

Excellent piece.

Well yes, obviously. But out of all the substitutions I see online “bare with me,” being “phased” by something, etc. this is the only one that doesn’t make me roll my eyes. ; )

Completely agree peri.dot

Look, Baltimore is burning & we’ll likely see no real positive change. People are miserable all over. If I choose to take comfort in the hope that after hearing the pope doesn’t support the fucked up wage gap, or that catholic families should support their gay children or w/e I’m going to. I’ll take it where I can get

They’re no doing it for Freddie Gray. That’s the part you people aren’t getting - these are teenagers 99% of whom did not know nor care about the victim. The city is in a state of chaos and there’s a five-finger discount on everything; THAT’S ALL.

Because this is the most progressive voice the church has ever seen. He’s not perfect because the institution he represents isn’t perfect, but compared to past popes he’s a dirt eating hippie. It will help to open the minds of a lot of Catholics to views they may have previously considered sinful or at the very least
