I saw one piece of her’s as part of a larger exhibit of more ‘shocking’ art called “Sensation” (another piece in the exhibt was one of Damien Hirst’s cut-up shark). The piece was called “Everyone I Have Ever Slept With” and it was a tent with all of the names of everyone she’d ever slept with.

I can’t speak to Hannah Horvath as I never watched Girls, but I never thought of any of the other characters you mentioned as ‘unlikeable’ at all. Messy? In the immortal words of one of our greatest philosophers:

I was under the impression that most of the women characters you cited are more like “sometimes messy, refreshingly human, and thus very relatable and likeable”? I don’t really know anything about this woman’s art, but framing it as “ugh, just another terrible TV woman” is kind of weird.

Wait. Were we not supposed to like those women? Because I want each one to be my ride or die. 

Jeff Lewis just seems like a horrible human being, right? We are all flawed, of course, but he’s never come off as a person who genuinely cares about anyone other than himself. Just hard to tell if he’s simply gotten carried away with his media persona or what.

higher education is a lonely place as a minority. When I was working on my PhD, I was the only ethnic minority (I am a brown guy, incidentally) in my entire program.
